EVANGELICAL HERITAGE
We believe in the Bible as God’s inspired Word and seek to live our lives in conformity to it. In matters of Faith and conduct the Bible is the final authority. NIFES’ teachings and belief flow from the Bible. The generality of our operations and resources used by NIFES is not a combination of various denominational beliefs rather, it is the truth of Scriptures. Summarily, we believe the Holy Scripture to be God’s inspired word; we live by it and teach it!
BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP
We teach and challenge students to be biblically balanced and become practical disciples of Christ in character and conduct. NIFES believes that biblical discipleship is to know and follow Christ consistently at all cost, with the ultimate goal of being like Jesus. We do not seek to make students like any of us, but desire that they become more like Jesus Christ. We see discipleship as a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and not just an event.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
We believe that students on campus today will be the leaders of every facet of society tomorrow. To ensure they are prepared, NIFES through various processes, programmes and exposures groom the students in the Jesus model of Servant-leadership. This we believe, will make them veritable leaders today on campus and society upon graduation. We build tomorrow’s leaders today.
INTEGRITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
NIFES strives to raise a crop of students who value integrity and are accountable to themselves, others and God, ultimately. Staff and Graduates model this to students through daily lifestyle and trainings with the goal of inculcating godly values.
STUDENTS’ INITIATIVES
Students are the target of the NIFES vision and they are the drivers of the vision. We believe students are dynamic, creative, energetic and willing to be used of God. In the light of this, our ministry philosophy is students reaching students with the gospel. NIFES therefore, gives priority to students’ initiative and leadership based on biblical principles.
INTERDENOMINATIONAL AND NONDENOMINATIONAL
NIFES is a Fellowship that embraces willing students from any Church denomination, raising them in an evangelical way. We complement and believe in the ministry of the local Church, but we are not a Church denomination and do not seek to become one. We are the body of Christ on campus.
MISSIONS
NIFES believes in God’s global mission of seeking to bring the lost to the saving knowledge of Christ. We believe in the proclamation and demonstration of the gospel for the redemption of nations. Believing that God has called all Christians to be involved in world evangelization, we seek to help students to hear that call and to discover their place of maximum participation at home or abroad.
ACADEMIC AND VOCATIONAL EXCELLENCE
NIFES aims to provide educational and career guidance and counseling service to students, as well as challenging them to acknowledge the stewardship of personal skills and vocational opportunity so as bring honor to God through our work: in the school community, in the home, and the market place.
PROMOTION OF READING CULTURE PARTICULARLY OF CHRISTIAN LITERATURE
NIFES believes that evangelical literatures are discipleship tools. Aside Producing and distributing literature of sound Biblical and evangelical principles on Christian life, faith and doctrine, NIFES encourages its students to actively read through the use of Conference themed books and other resources.
PROMOTING CHRISTIAN MATURITY THROUGH SMALL GROUPS
Jesus Christ invested in raising a small group of disciples. We believe that spiritual growth is recorded more in fewer numbers, NIFES uses the Discipleship Cell Groups on campuses to engender nurturing and maturity.
