STUDENTS REACHING STUDENTS FOR CHRIST

The basic principle of our operation is “Students reaching Students”. Hence, commitment to students’ initiative and leadership is fundamental to our call as a ministry to students. However, it is crucial to define the sphere of students’ leadership vis-a-vis Staff/Associates responsibility in the operations of our Movement. To say that we are a ‘student–led movement’ may be confusing unless we carefully delineate proper spheres of responsibilities, distinguishing between leadership from the local campus group to the national level, and other national aspects of the work such as finance, staff recruitment and welfare, council membership, church relationship, etc., coordinated by Staff and Associates. Our commitment to student leadership does not mean that there is no place for Staff/Associates’ initiative. We seek to always establish a partnership of mutual respect in which Students, Staff and Associates fulfill their respective roles to great effect. Our philosophy therefore suggests a working partnership based on mutual respect and spiritual authority with Staff, Associates and Students exercising responsibility in their respective areas / scope and competence.
